Are consultations really free?
Yes! All consultations are completely free so that you and the certified practitioner can determine the best treatment plan for you.
What types of insurance do you accept?
We accept most major insurance carriers, including Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Tricare, Medcost, United HealthCare, Direct Net, Primary Physician Care, Aetna, Coventry, Humana, and many others. If you don't see your insurance listed, please contact our office.
Deductibles, copays, out of pocket, etc?
You will be notified of all financial obligations you will be responsible for prior to making a decision concerning all treatment options. We will also provide information relating to payment plans and cash pay discounts, if applicable.
Do I need a prescription?
Most insurance companies consider Prosthetists and Orthotists specialists, and therefore a referral and/or prescription from your referring physician is required at your first visit.
Do I need an appointment?
No, however, it is highly recommended to schedule an appointment beforehand. This ensures the best scheduling so that you and others do not have to wait to receive the services and attention everyone needs.
What is a certified prosthetist? certified orthotist?
Practitioners who successfully complete the education, experience and examination requirements prescribed by ABC for practitioner certification are conferred the credentials of Certified Orthotist (CO), or Certified Prosthetist (CP). The credential of Certified Orthotist/Prosthetist (CPO) is conferred upon practitioners whose responsibilities conform to both those of orthotist and prosthetist and who successfully fulfill all of the requirements in both disciplines.
